Journalism

I’m fairly new to this. But to the delight of my parents (one current, one former journalist), journalism is a budding interest of mine.

Ironically enough, though, I’ve yet to write an article in English. Yes, seriously. As of now, my only true reporting experience was a remote internship in Fall 2020 with Senegal-based PressAfrik — an online newspaper out of Dakar. Researching, translating interviews, then writing and editing articles entirely in French was quite the journalistic trial-by-fire, but highly rewarding.

Two versions of each article — French + English via Google Translate — are below, with links included to their final publication (post-editor approval) by PressAfrik. And hopefully this is only the beginning, with more journalistic work to come.
