In 2025, one of the more unexpected but welcome additions to my professional life came in the form of visual media. In my role on the comms team for MN-based nonprofit Wilderness Inquiry, I was assigned behind the lens to a wide range of trips and programs. Below is a selection of many of my favorites (Updated Feb. 2026).
Coming to journalism from primarily a writing background, visual storytelling has had a learning curve — but I’m absolutely loving it. And I hope to lean more and more into photojournalism as I continue along in my communications career.
